Humility

When you're pounded by difficulties, humility enables you to step back from taking the troubles personally. Humility allows you to seek and accept advice and assistance.

In times of success, humility shields you from dangerous delusions of grandeur. With humility, you generously extend the benefits of your success far beyond yourself.

Quietly use your strength, your skills, your resources, rather than making a show of them. A humble approach is an effective approach.

Humility keeps you out of fights that have no winner. Humility saves you from the futile need to prove you're right.

The strongest people, you never hear much about. The strongest, most effective people do their work not for praise, but for results.

True confidence has no need to proclaim itself, nor does true competence. In humility, strength is found and gets its good work done. Ralph Marston - The Daily Motivator

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves." -Abraham Lincoln

Unsure?

If you're not sure what to do, go ahead and do something anyway. Action clarifies your purpose and illuminates your intentions.

If you're unsure how to go about it, make an initial effort anyway, right away. Even if the first step doesn't get you anywhere, it will give you valuable experience and perspective.

The secret to success is that no one really knows the secret. You learn to achieve as you go along, so get going, get the learning and achievement in motion.

If you already know how the story ends there's no point in reading it, or writing it. If you already know how the achievement will unfold, you owe it to yourself to seek a more ambitious achievement.

Unsure what to do with this day, with the month ahead, or the rest of your life? The way to be sure is to invest in life, right now, with action.

Free yourself from uncertainty with action. Get involved, get yourself clear about what, why and how, and make it happen. Ralph Marston - The Daily Motivator

Looking behind, I am filled with gratitude,
looking forward, I am filled with vision,
looking upwards I am filled with strength,
looking within, I discover peace
~ Quero Apache Prayer

You decide

You can decide how you feel about the world. You can decide how you feel about each day.
You can decide what your attitude will be. In your ability to decide there is great power.
You can decide how much to let things get to you. You can decide what to do and what not to do.
You are not a victim of what happens to you. You are the result of the way you interpret and deal with what happens.
You are the result of your choices. You are not stuck in any particular pattern or situation, unless you choose to be.
You are free to make of this moment, and every moment, what you will. Decide right now to make it outstanding.
Ralph Marston - The Daily Motivator

"There are many names for the source of knowledge—the Absolute, the Cosmic, God, the Divine Spirit, the Transcendent —yet the concept is one; it is the Universal Manifestation, the Spiritual Essence, that pervades all things. And, it is this entity, this Universal Oneness, that the mystic seeks to know." Rosicrucian Manuscript

"Secrets have answers.   Mysteries do not.

Mysteries are full of possibilities and endless permutations, like God.

But, if you solve a Mystery, what are you left with?

A Secret.....    So ordinary.....

Celebrate the Mystery of Life every day!!!" — Glenn Ripley

"When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life." — John Lennon

"Act not out of judgment, but out of love. Live not from a position of fear, but from a perspective of joy.
Let go of the need to prove how good you are. Live in such a way that real goodness, joy and generosity flow naturally from all you do.
Instead of seeking to gain more advantage, discover new ways to give more value. Instead of worrying about what might be, live the immense treasure of what already is.
Don’t waste your time looking for happiness in this thing or that. Let happiness always find you right where you are, doing whatever you are doing.
See life not as a contest where some must lose in order for others to win. See it as an opportunity to lift yourself higher by lifting many, many others through your unique gifts.
Let go of the illusion that you must struggle. And let in the beautiful reality of how very good life can be."
— Ralph Marston

"One of the purposes of life is to increase our capacity to love. As students on the path, the Universe will present to us many opportunities to develop this capacity. Let us increase our awareness of these opportunities and respond accordingly." — Lonnie Edwards

"When the Master Jesus taught people to love one another, he also said that there was no commandment greater than this. What could be simpler than to say, read or write the phrase "Let us love one another." Everyone knows it; and yet who understands the essence of it enough to put it into practice in one's daily life?" Christian Bernard

"All mystics like to refer to the peace of the soul. This amounts to a state of spiritual fulfillment, accessible to those who have chosen to place their life at the service of the Divine and of humanity. It is also the inner peace known to those who manage to live permanently in harmony. It is therefore the peace of the rose as well as that of the cross." Christian Bernard  (Note: The Rose is the Soul unfolding on the Cross of Life - the cross represents life's trials)

"The path to Universal Love is difficult sometimes. That another may choose a path I would not does not mean I should not be tolerant enough to still forgive, accept and love. That others may sometimes exceed their rightful place and judge me does not make my forgiveness, acceptance and love wrong."Glenn Ripley

"Cosmic meditation is not an escape but a recourse to a fountain of wisdom. It results in a spiritual influx, the results of which the objective mind can translate into procedures, into useful ways of living. What the mystic receives through such meditation, must be passed on to humanity. This is accomplished by transmuting such experiences into material realities, objective knowledge, in which others may indulge. Such revelations are not the mystic's sole possession, to be filed away as a mere part of a collection of ecstatic experiences. They must be used to help others in their professional and social worlds. In this way do we transmit to humanity what we have received." Ralph M. Lewis

Send love

"Instead of sending anger, send love. Instead of filling your mind with worry or frustration, fill your thoughts with love.

Send genuine love to those who support you. Send genuine love to those who disagree with you.

Let go of the need to get the last word, or to get even or to prove yourself. Send love, and you’ll find yourself living with unassailable strength and effectiveness.

Send love, and feel your anxiety melt away. Send love, and experience life at its highest level.

When you’re not sure what to do, do what is authentic, honest and caring. Move forward with love, for yourself, for life, and for others, and you’ll be moving toward good and valuable things.

Live a life that is real, and rich, and full. Send love, and live the best there is." — Ralph Marston

"First of all, we must be in harmony with ourselves; we must come to accept ourselves. The best way to achieve this is to never compare ourselves with others, because the moment we do, we then judge ourselves inferior or esteem ourselves as superior, resulting in either an inferiority complex or an inflated ego. In both cases the result is a state of disharmony. To avoid this, it is best to begin with the principle that each of us is a unique being and that this uniqueness gives us our worth in God’s view, as well as in the eyes of humanity. Therefore, we should hold to our own standard, comparing ourselves only to ourselves—this being the key to our spiritual evolution." — Christian Bernard

"Behave in such a way that all those who share your existence or live in contact with you regard you as an example and feel the desire to be like you. Guided by the voice of your conscience, may your ethics be as pure as possible and may your first preoccupation always be to think well, speak well, and act well." Rose Croix Code of Life

"As mystics throughout time have found, the road to discovery, to peace and enlightenment, is a journey into Self. There is more to our conscious being than we realize and it is from within that we find the keys which unlock our inner wisdom. It is from within that we can connect with the source of knowledge that lies beyond the limits of our five senses." Rosicrucian Manuscript

"Knowing that the purpose of all human beings is to perfect ourselves and to become better, strive continually to awaken and express the virtues of the soul that gives you life. In so doing you will contribute to your evolution and will serve the cause of humanity." Rose Croix Code of Life

“Fill yourself with the thought that all is good, everyone is loving and kind, for all are Children of Light and Children of the Cosmic. If you have felt otherwise toward anyone, immediately send that person good thoughts and undo the unkind thought you have held in your mind. If you are dissatisfied with any condition, any group of persons, any action on the part of anyone, immediately purge that from your mind by reversing your opinion and filling your being with thoughts of toleration, sympathy, kindness, and love.” H. Spencer Lewis

Divinity is the Universal Intelligence that thought, manifested, and animated all Creation according to unchanging perfect laws. All of Creation is permeated by a Universal Soul that evolves toward the perfection of its own nature. Life is the vehicle for cosmic evolution, such as it manifests in the universe and on Earth. Matter owes its existence to a vibratory energy that is propagated throughout the entire universe and which permeates every particle. Time and space are states of consciousness and do not have any material reality independent from humans. The human being is a double being in his or her nature and triple in her or his manifestation. The soul incarnates in the body of a child at the first inhalation, making the child a living and conscious being. Rosicrucian Ontology

"More than ever, it is time now for us to move from religiosity to spirituality, which means replacing the sole belief in God with the knowledge of divine laws – that is, universal, natural, and spiritual laws. The well-being we seek, including on a material plane, is to be found in this knowledge and in the wisdom that ensues. An ancient Rosicrucian adage says, “It is from ignorance and ignorance alone that humans must free themselves.” It is indeed at the origin of the worst things a person can do to oneself, to others, and to one’s environment. It is also the source of different superstitions that demean humanity and prevent it from finding complete fulfillment. So give a spiritual direction to your life. In other words, do not be just a living thing, be a living soul." AMORC

"While the mystic is therefore a thinking individual, she or he must also be an active one. Fully aware of what the purpose of their life is, their behavior comprises service, tolerance, generosity, understanding, compassion, and love, so as to set an example within Humanity. To be this good example, and therefore a positive testimony to the principles referred to as “mystical,” the mystic must throughout their life seek within themselves that which needs to be strengthened and improved. We are all a long way from perfection; but we can be radiant, and show the way, providing we do not try to reform others’ conduct at any price, tempting though this may be when we see others losing their way, and embarking on a dangerous route. Being an active mystic can be straightforward. All that is required is, first of all, to be genuine with oneself and with others, to be true in all circumstances. To be true does not mean speaking brusquely or rudely, or showing a lack of politeness or tact; it means being the true reflection of what we are, and not playing on the feelings of others, or saying one thing and doing another." Christian Bernard

Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.
Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.
Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.
A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.
Words that soak into your ears are whispered… not yelled.
Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight.
Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.
Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.
It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.
You cannot unsay a cruel word.
Every path has a few puddles.
When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.
The best sermons are lived, not preached.
Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.
Don’t judge folks by their relatives.
Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
Live a good, honorable life… Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.
Don ‘t interfere with somethin’ that ain’t bothering you none.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance.
If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’.
Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.
The biggest troublemaker you’ll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin’.
Always drink upstream from the herd.
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.
Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin’ it back in.
If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around..
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
Most times, it just gets down to common sense.
